Welcome

We are a no-kill foster-based rescue located in Southern California. Our mission is to reduce the number of abandoned and euthanized cats and kittens in Orange, San Diego and Imperial Counties.

We foster all of our cats and kittens in the homes of volunteer foster parents. We know all about our cats’ personalities and can help you find the perfect cat or kitten to join your family.

Southern Counties Rescue has recently opened a chapter in Bremerton, Washington. We are excited to be expanding because so many cats and kittens need homes.

Our plan is to save more kitties by bringing healthy, fully vetted kitties to Washington to find loving homes.  We rescue from high kill shelters and abandoned cats and kittens on the streets in Southern California. With our warm weather, many kittens are born in yards and abandoned buildings and need rescuing along with friendly moms.  We rescue, bring them into our foster homes, and tend to their medical needs and socialize them so they are healthy and happy for new forever homes.

Please visit out Facebook page for our North West Chapter, Southern Counties Rescue NWC to learn more about activities in Washington and to consider volunteering with us in Washington.

Cat and Kitten Adoption

Meet our adoptable cats and kittens! If you are interested in meeting one of them at our next adoption event, please fill out a no-obligation adoption questionnaire.

On most Saturday afternoons from noon to 3 pm, we have kittens and adults to meet at Petco San Juan Capistrano.  We recommend you complete a questionnaire before coming by.  If you are interested in a particular kitty, we can make an appointment with you to meet them after you submit a questionnaire. If you don’t know exactly which kitty you are interested in, that’s okay!  You can list several on the questionnaire or just indicate that you aren’t certain.

Support Our Work

We are always in need of donations to help support our rescue work. All donations go directly to our services and costs; we have no paid staff. Donations also help us to pull cats and kittens out of high-kill shelters in time to save them, and to remove cats from other dangerous situations.

Volunteers assist with a variety of tasks, both at our adoption events and elsewhere.  Read more about volunteering.

If you are interested in taking the next step and fostering cats or kittens for us, read more about fostering and complete our foster questionnaire.
